Crying Virgin Mary
A detailed black and grey realism tattoo portraying the Virgin Mary with her eyes lowered and tears running down her face. The delicate veil framing her portrait and the carefully rendered facial features create a solemn, emotional composition centered on grief, compassion and faith. Fine details in the eyelashes, eyebrows and lace contrast with soft gradients across the skin, while the reflective teardrops add a striking three-dimensional element to the portrait.

My name is Jonathan, and I’m a tattoo artist based in Danvers, MA. I specialize in dark and black & grey realism, creating detailed pieces that combine strong contrast, realistic textures, and a unique atmosphere. I love taking an idea and turning it into something that feels personal and works naturally with the body. For me, every tattoo is more than just a design, so I pay close attention to the details, composition, and placement to make sure everything comes together. I always take the time to understand what you have in mind and work with you to create a piece you’ll be excited to wear for years to come.
